19th Annual Golf Tournament Raises $55,000 for Hospital Foundation
September 16, 2024
The South Huron Hospital Foundation’s 19th Annual Charity Golf Tournament was a swinging success, raising an impressive $55,000 to support critical healthcare initiatives. The event, held at the picturesque White Squirrel Golf Club, brought together community members, healthcare professionals, and generous donors for a day of golf, camaraderie, and charitable giving.
This year’s tournament saw more than 150 participants tee off for a good cause, with proceeds going toward a second Travel Ventilator and new Vital Signs Machines, furthering the Foundation’s mission to enhance healthcare services at the South Huron Hospital. The funds raised will help to improve patient care, expand medical facilities, and invest in cutting-edge technology and equipment.
The day kicked off with a light breakfast provided by Team Reid's McDonalds and a celebratory tee off by Huron Health Systems CEO Jimmy Trieu. Golfers then enjoyed 18 holes of friendly competition, followed by a celebratory dinner and entertainment.
We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support from our community, sponsors, and participants. The success of this tournament helps us continue our work of ensuring that the South Huron Hospital can provide top-notch care to every patient who walks through our doors.
The tournament featured exciting contests such as closest to the pin, longest drive, and a hole-in-one challenge, which kept the competition lively. Several local businesses and sponsors contributed to the event’s success, including Exeter Produce and Storage and Hyde Brothers Farm Equipment, who helped make this year’s tournament one of the most successful yet.
As the Foundation looks ahead to its 20th annual tournament next year, the community’s continued support will be crucial in maintaining and expanding the hospital’s ability to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
