10th Annual Radiothon is a SUCCESS!
October 22, 2023
The South Huron Hospital Foundation’s 10th Annual Radiothon on Friday raised over $45,000 in donations.
The funds raised are set to breathe new life into the South Huron Hospital, facilitating vital updates. A significant portion of the contributions will be allocated to the purchase of a new bone mineral density scanner.
Several community members stopped by throughout the day, including Mayor of South Huron, George Finch, who said that the hospital is supported well beyond the borders of the municipality.
Chair of the Hospital Foundation Board Rob Tait, said that the support from the community was obvious, as many people came out to the radiothon, cash in hand, ready to dedicate their funds.
Krista McCann, the Executive Director, said that the day was an undeniable success.
The community rallied behind the cause, with notable community members making generous donations. Local children Carson, Andie, and Brinley Klopp donated the proceeds from a bake sale they organized in the previous week, several local businesses passed around a hat for casual Friday donations, and locals in the community opened their hearts and wallets to the cause – with many sharing stories of how the hospital has served them in the past.
Many groups and companies in the community showed their support through generous donations including the Ladies Auxiliary, Skillen Investment Management and Axiom Mutual Insurance, as well as several local relators with the #realtorchallenge
The 10th Annual Radiothon was not just a successful fundraising event; it was a testament to the South Huron community’s unwavering dedication to the well-being of its residents.
